Hot on the heels of the Chevy Code 130R Concept, Chevrolet
was ready to wow passersby at the Detroit Auto Show of 2012 with yet another
futuristic rocket ship, the Chevy Tru 140S.
A front-wheel drive, four-passenger hatchback (believe it or
not), just like the Code 130R the Chevy Tru 140S is hoped to finish production
in the low $20,000-range and will feature many untold customizable features;
aimed at younger folks, the Tru 140S will capture both the tuner markets as
well as the millennial markets and was berthed from, as GM North America
President Mark Reuss states, "seeking out our newest customers' opinions,
listening to their advice and engaging them in new ways." Ruess went on to state that the car's styling
is meant to be both Italian in expression (a la Lamborghini) and affordable but
exotic.
Under the hood the Tru 140S is housing a 4-cylinder
turbocharged Ecotec engine with a mild hybrid, start-stop system. Paired to a six-speed automatic, Chevy hopes
to also see the Tru 140S get a high-40 mpg if and when it is completed.
Unfortunately for car news-hungry Chevy fans out there,
details on the Chevy Tru 140S after the Detroit Auto Show are still scarce. Make sure to check back in with our blog to
